Genesee Conservation District
Our Work is Life
Your Partner in Conservation
The Genesee Conservation District strives to improve the quality of life in Genesee County by connecting people with nature while conserving our county's precious resources. We are focused on building a resilient, sustainable, and inclusive community.

Established in 1946 as a local unit of government to protect the environment and Michigan's natural resources, we are here to help you start conservation planning today. We prioritize resources toward soil and water conservation, local food systems, urban land reuse, improving production agriculture, and the long-term viability of Genesee County's resources.
